You can claim compensation for any injuries or losses that you can prove were the direct result of someone else's fault (or negligence) or if they happened while at work or in a situation where no fault compensation is available. This could include compensation for:

  • pain and suffering
  • not being able to carry out daily activities or hobbies (called 'loss of amenity');
  • medical expenses past and future
  • loss of earnings;
  • costs of nursing & domestic care, including care that your family provides, special equipment, medical care or help that you need to carry out daily activities;
  • costs of adapting your home; or
  • psychological injury
  • Compensation to Relatives and dependents if someone close to you has died as a result of negligence or at work
You should seek legal advice if you were injured or someone you depend on financially has died and you have suffered losses.
